Thomas A. Rexdale, M.A., has been a singer, teacher
and musician for nearly half a century. A native of Rock Island,
Illinois, Mr. Rexdale came to New York for his graduate studies
at Columbia University where he earned a Master of Arts Degree
in Vocal Pedagogy. His
vocal studies also included twenty years as protege of the late
Bernard U. Taylor and several years with Maestro Enzo dell'Orefice,
accompanist and coach to Enrico Caruso, the most famous singer
of all time.
As a performer, Mr. Rexdale has sung at Carnegie Hall
more than one hundred times and sung or played in 49 out of our
50 states, Canada, Nova Scotia, Mexico and Germany. He toured
extensively as accompanist for Columbia Artist Management and
for many sacred services and concerts. Specializing in Ragtime
and early jazz, he was known in Germany as "Pianist des Ragtime" and
was pianist for the recreation of the 1917 Victor recordings of
the Original Dixieland Jazz Band in New York in 1987.
As a teacher
of singing for over forty years, Mr. Rexdale maintained his own
studio in New York's Lincoln Center for twenty years, was an
Associate Professor at New York University and was President of
the New York Singing Teachers' Association from 1984-1987. Moving
to New Jersey in 1990, he currently teaches singing in Red Bank
and Toms River. His motto is "Music is the Universal Language. Let
